About the NRC reader
NRC has the most selective reach among the highest social class (AB1) and for HBO+ educated readers of any newspaper in the Netherlands. This makes NRC the shortest path to highly educated, high-income Dutch residents who additionally exhibit above average interest in art, culture and the economy, among other topics.

Social class
NRC readers are over-represented in the AB1 social class. This social class is composed of individuals who have the highest level of education and have principle wage earner professions.
Socio-economic class
NRC readers have high incomes: whether in print or online, we reach many readers from the highest socio-economic class. The socio-economic class is based on the annual gross household income, the household level of education and on being a home owner.

Level of education
Through print and online media, we reach highly educated readers (HBO+), again with a high selectivity.
Age distribution
The traditional newspaper reader is slightly older than the average Dutch person. One quarter of our print readers is aged 35 or younger. For our online content, one third of our readers is aged 35 or younger.
Our readers' interests
The NRC reader is above average interested in subjects in the fields of art, culture and literature. In addition, the NRC reader has an above average interest in economic and financial topics, development aid and politics.
